72
members played in the Alliance Championships event. The early
rain and mist cleared to give a mainly dry day. The prizes were
presented by Geoff Jones the St Enodoc Captain. The course was
in fine condition with all players complimenting the superb greens.
J J Jones from China Fleet won the amateur trophy with a great
round and just pipped Chris Durkin from Falmouth by one point.
A superb 3 under par round gave Richard o'Hanlon (the Lanhydrock
pro) the professional trophy with Paul Turpin, one under par,
as runner up. The Brian Gripe team prize was closely contested,
Paul Turpin, Simon Smith and Peter Risely winning on count back.
